Privacy policy

When you join Ember we store the details you give us: your email address, display name, age, city, bio, interests and the photos you upload. We also keep your dating-pass records, your messages, your dating posts and your privacy choices so the site can work for you.

You choose who can see each profile photo: everyone, signed-in members only, or only you. Visitors and members who are not in your chosen audience cannot load the photo.

When you replace a profile photo, the previous photo is withdrawn so older links to it stop working.

Your remaining dating days can be shown on your profile and Discover cards. You choose who sees this: everyone, signed-in members only, or only you. If you keep it private, other members see that your pass status is private instead of a day count.

Chat messages are private between the two members in the conversation. Other members and visitors cannot read them.

You can turn off new conversations in your privacy settings. When you do, members you have never spoken to cannot start a chat with you, but anyone you have already messaged can still reply.

Posts you share on the dating feed, including post photos, follow your posts privacy setting: signed-in members, or only you.

Passes are paid for through Stripe, our payment processor. Your card or wallet details are entered on Stripe's secure payment form — Ember never sees or stores your full card number.

We keep a record of each purchase (the pass you bought, the amount and the date) so we can credit your dating days, handle renewals and process refunds. When a purchase is fully refunded, the days it added are removed.

You can change your photo, pass, posts and message privacy at any time from the privacy settings on your profile page. Changes take effect straight away.
